Description
According to Tibetan Buddhism, a Yak’s head, eyes, intestine, hair, hoofs, and hearts were transformed into the sun, moon, stars, rivers, lakes, forest, and mountains. Yak bones represents its spirit and are a symbol of purity. The Yak have been kept by farmers for a thousand of years for milk, fiber and meat and as a beast of burden. The Yak statues in front of Buddhist temple represents that they intend to frighten evil spirits and protect the Buddha statues from all the enemies.
